Carnegie Library Museum

321 Main Street, Black River Falls, WI
The Carnegie Library, built in 1915 and housed the Black River Falls Public Library until 1995. In 1996 the Jackson County Historical Society opened this building as a museum. The building is listed on the Wisconsin & National Registry of Historic Places.
The museum offers two floors of exhibits representing early life in Jackson County. Some exhibits include:
- The Clay Post Office
- A complete dental office
- Historical military artifacts
- Lumber and logging displays
- A Native American display featuring photos, beadwork, and leather items
- Past Cultures section with local early Native American arrowheads, stone tools & many other local ancient artifacts
- The Charles Van Schaick & Wisconsin Death Trip exhibit area
Hours
Open May through September on Fridays & Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. Open by appointment all year around.
